It all depends on your pricing scale and how much the client's wedding is. Many planners charge a percentage of wedding costs. Ten to twenty percent is a reasonable commission for the average planner.

A wedding planner salary can certainly be worth the time and effort you spend building and running your business. Being self employed is rewarding and often profitable.
